Spence Saga
Grandma Karen & Grandpa Ron...
Few can bring the warmth... we can find in their embrace,
And little more is needed to bring love, than the smile on their face.

They've a supply of precious stories, yet they've time to wipe a tear,
Or give us reasons to make us laugh, they grow more precious through the years.

I believe that God sent us Grandparents as our legacy from above,
to share the moments of our life, as extra measures of His love.
--We love you, love your grandkids

Rainbows & Grandkids Bring Lots of Joy

WOW - guess there's one good thing that comes from all the rain . . .
a beautiful rainbow out our back window.

Can't use the pool much, but there's always the hottub!

Proud Papa Looking On!

Hey Grandma, this is pretty fun!

Time for Baby Eistein!

Serious Stuff!

Baxter gets upclose to see what all the fuss is about!

Almost over.

He has this cute habit of putting his hands and feet out
and opening & closing his hands.

Mason with his friend Jason - 2 peas in a pod!

We had a nice Father's Day Barbecue with Family & Friends.
These two wanted to sleep in their secret fort, but only lasted a couple of hours!
Decided the loft was a little warmer.
We're especially excited because the forecast calls for 3 days of sun - hooray!

Ignoring the Rainy Weather

I'm starting to think we're living in the Northwest again. Berkley invited Rachel to go to the cabin, but the forecast looked like rain everyday. They wanted to go anyway, so we decided
RAIN OR SHINE
we'd make the best of it!
Is there one head or two in this picture?
These crazy girls wanted to go to the beach even in the pouring down rain.
Yes, that's RAIN hitting the water!

Bryn tried to be a good sport, but decided to get in the car and wait for the girls
to gain some sanity and come in from the rain!

What a difference a day makes. Finally 4 whole hours of NO rain!
We went to the beach & then to the pool, and then
HERE COMES THE RAIN AGAIN!

Such good pals!

Busy making sand castles on the sandbar.
We broke out the sandwiches and the seagulls starting appearing,
so we threw them some of our crusts.

Lounging on the hammock.

Still a little chilly.

Time for a little snooze.
Bryn thought that looked pretty comfy.
These 3 had a lot of fun together.
We made the best of the rain. Stayed in and played lots and lots of games -
and we didn't even get cabin fever.
Bryn joined in when we were playing charades. Rachel was acting out shooting
at people and Berkley and I weren't guessing the word,
when Bryn chimed in and said "war" and Rachel said that's it!
Hey, how did a little 4 year old outguess us.
Bryn talked to me about her trip last year to the beach in great detail.
I was amazed that she remembered so much when she was only 3.
What a smart little girl!
Bryn & I snuggled up on the couch one night while the girls were playing games, and we took turns singing songs to each other. She taught me "The Speckled Frog" song and then we started tickling each other and were both laughing hysterically.
So, as you can tell we didn't let the bad weather
RAIN ON OUR PARADE!
All 3 girls were very cooperative and polite and helped clean up when it was time to go.
We may have to try it again when the weather is a little warmer and sunnier!

There's Something About That First Grandchild

I think every grandparent will admit there's something special about their first grandchild. Just when you're feeling sad that your kids are leaving home, the void is filled in with that first little one that reminds you so much of when your own kids were little.
So the other day, I ran across these pictures, and it reminded me that Chandler not only looked darling, but had the most charming personality a 3 year old could ever have. That smile could melt everyone's heart that came into contact with him.

He loved boating & jetskiing.

Our handsome little man!

When he was 3, he would ride his bike (yes, he rode a two-wheeler then) to Gene Harvey's who lived next door, and would talk to him while he worked in his yard, and charm the heck out of him. Gene told us he's never seen a more delightful little boy and said he hoped he was around to watch him grow up.
Chandler isn't so little now (he's taller than me), but he still has that infectious, win-over personality he had back then. We hope as he faces decisions in his life that every teenager does, he'll remember how loved and cared about he's been and will always make wise choices, so we'll always be proud of him!

Bear Lake with Chelsey & Kids

It's not that often that Chelsey gets 3 days off from work, so she was able to come to Bear Lake with us. We crammed a lot of activities in those 3 days and everyone had a blast.

Of course, one of the funnest activities was 4 wheeling. Mason felt confident enough to drive with Logan behind him. They made the loop so many times, I'm surprised they didn't get dizzy.
Way to go Chels - you didn't even tip over!
Chelsey needed the flag so everyone could see her coming! Just kidding Chels!

Mason liked wearing Chandler's helmet, since Logan & Chloe had to wear his.

Watching a movie in the loft.

Lounging by the pool.

Mother & daughter - 2 cuties!

Making sand castles.

They had lots of fun at the beach. The nice thing was this sandbar made a little lagoon area that had really warm water. The Bear Lake side though was really cold. Can definitely see why they call it Brrrr Lake!

We saw people waterskiing & on jet skiis, but it was too dang cold for us. We stayed where it was warmer.

Chloe loved playing in the sand.
Bottoms Up!
Got this cute shot of her bending over.

Fun trip getting to spend time with Chelsey & her kids. I've always felt close to Chelsey, but I think this trip made us bond even more. We made some yummy food and played lots of cards in between 4 wheeling, swimming, going to the beach and getting raspberry & caramel shakes. We'll definitely have to do it again!
