Spence Saga
Grandma Karen & Grandpa Ron...
Few can bring the warmth... we can find in their embrace,
And little more is needed to bring love, than the smile on their face.

They've a supply of precious stories, yet they've time to wipe a tear,
Or give us reasons to make us laugh, they grow more precious through the years.

I believe that God sent us Grandparents as our legacy from above,
to share the moments of our life, as extra measures of His love.

Proud of our new Eagle Scout

We're so proud of our Grandson Chandler
and his great accomplishment of becoming
an Eagle Scout.  He's just an amazing
young man. He's handsome, talented,
smart, friendly, energetic, hard-working,
dedicated, and always has a hug
for everyone!

He was one of 10 boys that received
their Eagle Scout Awards at
a very special Court of Honor
where Elder Russell M. Nelson spoke

Julie was in charge of the amazing refreshments

Very proud parents!

The day I'm posting this is also
Chandler's Birthday.

So a great big
HAPPY BIRTHDAY
to Chandler!

We love you soooo much
and are so proud of you!

Fun Times with the Tweens!

Oh to be young again and full of so much energy!
In March Berkley wanted to take some friends up
to our cabin for her birthday, but I talked her
into waiting til summer when there's so much
more to do.
She invited Meg, Rachael, and Hannah!
They had 3 days of nonstop fun and activities.

Even the hammock turned into an
adventure where they took turns
swinging each other!

Gathered around the table for lots of
game playing and eating!

If you were to ask them, I'm sure they'd say boating, tubing
and playing on the beach were their favorite activities.
These girls sure know how to have fun together!

Guess they hadn't had enough sun so they
rode in the back of the truck. They were
finally worn out which was very unusual!

Berkley and Hannah were our florists.
They gathered up beautiful wild flowers
 and made these bouquets
which we enjoyed for days!

The day we arrived was Ron's birthday.
The girls helped me make him a cake
and we sang Happy Birthday to him.
Ron's sister Kim gave him this beautiful
set of copper pans for our cabin. After
much deliberating, we decided to display
them in this cupboard. Thanks Kim -
they add a nice touch to our cabin!

The girls enjoyed a couple of hours
going to the pool and hot tub - guess
they weren't water logged yet!

We love it when there's a full moon because
the reflection on the water is so breathtaking.

The moon just coming up over the mountain

Another thing we love is seeing moose
as long as they're far away.
Because there is so much snow melt,
 we hadn't seen any yet,
so we were surprised to see this one
across the ravine.
Glad the girls got to see a moose in the wild.

The trip wouldn't be complete without a good
old-fashioned wienie roast complete with s'mores!

The only time they were quiet!

Best Buds!
Rachael, Berkley, Hannah, and Meg

Their 2nd favorite activity was 4-wheeling
but unfortunately I forgot to take any pictures.
We rode around every day when we
got back from the lake and
it was a great way to cool off.

What a fun trip and what a fun bunch of girls.
I didn't hear one argument and they
were talking, singing, giggling, and constantly
figuring out the best ways they could
to entertain themselves!
I'm sure this will become a tradition for
Berkley just as it has been
the past five years for Chandler
and his buddies!
So we better start resting now
 for next year!

Happy 4th of July - 2011

Can't think of a better way to celebrate the
Fourth of July
than being with family at our cabin.
I think everyone can agree it was a perfect weekend
with perfect weather, fun activities, yummy food,
and great company!

Did plenty of 4-wheeling!

The boys decided they needed to wear their
helmets playing horseshoes in case they
hit each other! So cute!

Tubing was probably everyone's favorite activity!

Everyone had fun just swimming around in the water.
They all took turns jumping off the back of the boat.

Chelsey getting ready to ski.  After she skiied,
she stayed in the water and helped Mason try to ski.
He almost made it up but didn't want to
try anymore. Maybe next year!

                                                     Relaxin' on the boat

                                                                     Little sleep time!

                                                                     Enjoyin' the view

For two nights we built a bonfire and roasted
                                                        hot dogs and s'mores.  Yummy!

Due to the high water, there are hardly any
beaches left, so the north beach was packed
                                                             with people.
We set up our shade cabana and
let the kids play in the sand and water.

There's a new speedway track in Garden City, so
on our way out the boys had fun racing their cars.
Asher was in heaven and they let them race for about
10 minutes. Asher likes to pretend he's a race car so
this time, he didn't have to pretend!

What a fun-filled holiday weekend. I think everyone
hated it to end. Between 4-wheeling, boating, playing
on the beach, having horseshoe tournaments, golfing,
eating, and playing tons of cards, there was plenty
for everyone to do.

Asher sat by Mason on the way home and entertained
him all the way to his house. He said the funniest
things and had Mason cracking up all the way home.
We watched fireworks at Julie's and headed home
for a well deserved rest!

Thanks to everyone for being so cooperative and
helpful and making this an enjoyable trip for everyone!!!
