Spence Saga
Grandma Karen & Grandpa Ron...
Few can bring the warmth... we can find in their embrace,
And little more is needed to bring love, than the smile on their face.

They've a supply of precious stories, yet they've time to wipe a tear,
Or give us reasons to make us laugh, they grow more precious through the years.

I believe that God sent us Grandparents as our legacy from above,
to share the moments of our life, as extra measures of His love.

Finally Bryn's turn at Bear Lake

Ron and I are brave souls - we took our 3 youngest grandkids
to our cabin. This was Bryn's first time there this summer -
and they had so much fun together!

The first thing Bryn did was set up all her toys -
we made a bed for her in her fort and
she slept with all her stuffed animals

Pap Pap's Buddy

Love Bryn's toothless smile

Mason's in heaven when he can ride the 4-wheeler

Bryn totally trusts Mason since he's such a cautious driver

Love Asher's expression

Our little tomboy Bryn catching bugs in a container.
Asher's helping her look for critters.

She managed to catch a grasshopper - so proud of her treasure!

It doesn't get better than this -
Asher enjoying an ORANGE coolpop!

Bryn relaxing on the hammock watching a movie

Mason is swinging them and Asher is
giggling into the hammock

So glad we brought his bike so he could ride around on the deck

Ahh....our cute little cowgirl!

Asher playing with his toys on the carport

Mason and I were playing cards while
Bryn was busy playing with Asher
when I heard her say.....OK the rock
museum is open. They had gathered
rocks of all shapes and sizes and arranged them
in different containers.

I told Asher to smile so he stood up and gave us this cheesy grin

Bryn's trying to get Asher to look at the camera

Getting one last ride in before sunset

Love how a little bit of light is peeking through the clouds
and reflecting on the lake!

We ended up not taking the boat out.
For some reason we just felt like relaxing
and hanging out at the cabin.  Mason is
my little card buddy and a lucky one at that.
I think he won most of our games!
Bryn and Asher were great little buddies.
Mason gets such a kick out of Asher.
On the way home, Asher started doing his
raspberry routine and I've never heard Mason
laugh so hard. This went on for at least a half hour.
It definitely made the trip go faster for them!

Raspberry Days at Bear Lake

Had another great trip to Bear Lake with
Chelsey and her family, her Evanston friends
Lisa and Dave and little boy Tate,
and Ethan and Pap Pap.
It was Raspberry Days so we
went to the rodeo, craft fair and fireworks and
of course indulged in some of their famous shakes.

Ron's Dad with his bug deterrant hat!

Ethan had fun at the new racetrack in Garden City

Jackson loved the beach and didn't mind
getting a little dirty

Chloe and Logan building a mote around their castle

Great way to keep Jackson in one spot!

Ethan really got a kick out of Jackson and
was a good helper

Jackson loved the boat and is such a happy baby

Ron gave Taylor and Dave the ride of their lives.
They were so worn out from trying to stay on,
they had a hard time sitting up!

Chels with her friend Lisa
I definitely gave them a calmer ride!

Lisa, Dave, and Tate
We really enjoyed getting to know
this cute little family!

Ethan liked the tube until Logan said he wanted a wilder ride.
So Ethan bailed off the tube and decided to swim to shore.
Of course, we coaxed him back into the boat
since we were in the middle of the lake!

Even little Jackson liked the tube

Not sure if she was yawning or squealing!

We couldn't believe our eyes when we saw Logan
kneeboarding for the first time. He stayed on a long time.
Way to go Logan!

Dave trying to kneeboard!
One thing about Dave - he
doesn't give up - he kept saying
"one more time" about 20 times!

Lookin' pretty good Chelsey!

Way to go Taylor!

Even the old guy looks pretty good on skiis
although I complained to him that when
I skiied and wakeboarded, no one took my
picture - maybe next time!

Logan is a great little diver and swimmer -
thinkin' he needs to be on the swim team!

Great canonball Ethan!

Love this little guy!

So glad Chelsey and her family like to hang out with us.
We have so much fun when we get together.
Of course, when Chelsey and I are together,
there's lots of card playing.

Makes me sad that summer is coming to an end.
One of these days we'll be looking out at snow
but I do feel like we're making the most of
this summer and enjoying the beautiful
weather at our cabin. It's about 10 degrees
cooler there which makes it so comfortable
but still warm enough for lots of fun in the sun!
