Spence Saga
Grandma Karen & Grandpa Ron...
Few can bring the warmth... we can find in their embrace,
And little more is needed to bring love, than the smile on their face.

They've a supply of precious stories, yet they've time to wipe a tear,
Or give us reasons to make us laugh, they grow more precious through the years.

I believe that God sent us Grandparents as our legacy from above,
to share the moments of our life, as extra measures of His love.

Skiing at Alta

Today ended up being a pretty good day. I got to do 2 of the things I love to do most - playing racquetball & skiing. What's really amazing is they both were absolutely free. I play R.B. at a friend's house and Alta let's you ski free from 3:00 to 4:30. That doesn't seem like a very long time to ski, but we got a lot of skiing in and it beats paying $50 for a lift ticket! I guess the Scottish blood in both of us loves to find good deals.

We had a great time with our good friends, June & Wally.

We loved our new skiis. We'll definitely have to do this again!
So much fun being in our beautiful Utah mountains.

Mason's Birthday Dinner at Bonzai

WE WENT TO BONZAI FOR MASON'S 7TH BIRTHDAY FAMILY DINNER!

It's always fun watching the
cook do all his amazing
culinary tricks.

The kids got to play the tamborine while we sang
Happy Birthday!

HAPPY
BIRTHDAY
MASON!

Visit with Aunt Myrle

It's not very often that we get to visit my
Aunt Myrle who will be 93 this May.
She's quite the special lady. Even at her age,
there's no slowing her down.
They call her the
Go Go Girl
at her retirement center,
because she's always going out the door to either
a Church function, the Symphony, or other community event.
When she was in her 80's, she sold Avon in her
neighborhood, and she kept a stock of Avon supplies
in her home to give as gifts.
She has many friends and family who love and adore her.

Glad Mom was able to visit Aunt Myrle. They aren't able to get together very often, and they had a very nice visit.

BIRTHDAY DINNER WITH MY TWIN COUSIN

Not too many people get to say they have a twin cousin. We were born on the same day and same year. We have always been close especially since we were roomies in college, where we had the same address, phone number, last name, birthdate and her parents almost named her Karen but decided on Christie instead. Good thing, that would have been really confusing.

We decided to get together with our hubbies for a birthday dinner at Los Hermanos. We had a delicious dinner and talked about how to solve the world problems or at least what to do to prepare for them. Thanks for a fun evening. Hope to do it again next year!

New Skiis

We finally did it! After using our last skiis for 20 years, we gave them away to DI so we would be forced to buy new ones. We finally went out last week and bought new skiis. Their the new fangled parabolic kinds and we can't wait to try them out.

Of course, I let Ron know that my old ski jacket would clash with my new skiis, so since it was my birthday, he said I could go ahead and get a new jacket. Can't wait to hit the slopes!

St. George

For the MLK weekend, we decided to go to our condo and enjoy the 60 degree sunny weather. It was perfect weather for tennis, bike riding, playing frisbee, and just being outside.

Had some fun frisbee matches.

Good pals most of the time.

Posed for the picture instead of catching the frisbee!

Great form. Another tennis player in the making.

Had some pretty good matches. Chan even won his last match against his Grandpa.

The old man still has it and so does the young man!

The boys loved playing cards and Sequence. Couldn't quite beat their old granny at Sequence though.

Ron's typical spot!

Gotta love that face. Baxter was in heaven being with the boys.

We had a great time and hated coming back to winter. We watched the thermometer on our car go down 40 degrees on the way home. Oh well, spring is right around the corner, right?

CHAD'S BIRTHDAY DINNER

We got to celebrate Chad's Birthday by taking his family

to Olive Garden. We had some delicious food and

enjoyed spending time with his family.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHAD!

Ally and her cute friend Sierra.

ONE YEAR AGO

It was a little over one year ago that we spent a week in

Florida to celebrate Ron's Aunt Grace's 90th Birthday.

Kim found a fantastic house to rent right off a bay that

came in from the ocean. It was so fun to have us all together

under the same roof. We had a lot of laughs and loved

spending time with Aunt Grance, Donna, and Gary (her children).

Aunt Grace is one of the sweetest ladies you could ever meet

(even if she is a democrat).

We had a fun party for her at her care center.

The gang in front of the house we rented.

Spent a day at Epcot. Lucky Kim got to ride
around on a scooter - we were so jealous!
This is such a fun place with the
shops and restaurants of each country.

We spent an hour watching this manatee in the bay behind our house.

The swimming pool behind our house.
It was a bit chilly, but Ron and I swam one day (for 15 minutes)

Looking across the bay from the back deck.

WHAT A FUN TRIP THIS WAS! A big thank you to Donna for all her hospitality and yummy food and to Kim for finding the wonderful house we stayed in. We created some wonderful memories that we won't soon forget! Wish we could do it again especially as we look at our 10 feet of snow outside!

ASHER'S BABY BLESSING

This was a very special day for Asher and what a good little boy he was! He cried for a minute and then was quiet for the rest of the time. His Grandpa Steenblik gave him a beautiful blessing.

Such a cute family and
So So full of it most the time!

One of those rare moments when they're not teasing!

Asher won't remember this,
but we'll show him what
a sweet boy he was!

Aunt Julie and her sweet little nephew on his special day!
